Electronic air purifiers are the most common kind of purifiers on the market today. They use electric power to fuel their air cleaning systems. However, you can also find electrostatic air purifiers, which are usually used in conjunction with a negative ionic system. As such, they have their own pros and cons.
Electronic air purifiers attract and hold airborne particles just like a magnet. As dirty air is drawn through the air cleaner, the larger particles are trapped by a pre-filter screen. Smaller particles that get through this screen are given a positive electrical charge. These positively charged particles pass through to a collection area that is negatively charged. The opposite charges attract, and the pollutants are held in the collection area until you clean the unit and wash them away. After the particles are removed from the air, that air is then passed through an odor-absorbing filter that freshens the purified air.

As explained above, electronic air purifiers work like a pollution magnet, trapping airborne particles for a cleaner, healthier home or office. These air cleaners remove smoke, bacteria, pollen, and dust from the air and the carbon filter helps to eliminate even the most stubborn odors, and reduce pollutants in the air.
