Biozone
Biozone air purifiers have several benefits, including low energy consumption and ultra quiet operation. They are very effective at removing microscopic contaminants that other cleaners might miss. Biozone air purifiers use an ultraviolet technology that is capable of removing odors, germs, viruses, bacteria, mold spores, and many other pollutants. Current consumers of Biozone products number four million. Their products are even used in the Pentagon building.
The company makes a large array of air cleaners, ranging from home air purification systems to the Travelaire, a portable air cleaner for people on the go. They also make products to clean odors and germs from the air in automobiles, and a gentler air purifier for a baby's room. Of course, Biozone also makes heavy duty systems for industrial and commercial uses, as well.
How Biozone Air Purifiers Work
Biozone's air purifiers use a UV bulb that produces photoelectrons. These photoelectrons interact with an aluminum-alloy metal fence inside the purification chamber, creating photocatalytic ions. There are enough of these ions created that they have no trouble grabbing onto and eliminating polluting particles, especially smoke. This method is also effective for reducing chemical contamination. Some other air purifiers use an ionization process that can produce up to 2,000 ions per cubic cm, which often results in the "black wall" effect. Dust is attracted to the static charge of these ions and gathers on your wall until it turns black with dust.
If having black walls just doesn't appeal to you, stick with air purifiers that use the photoelectron method. It can be distressing to see visual evidence of what used to be floating around in your air now stuck to your walls. Although it is visual proof of what you're no longer breathing, you may not want that sort of proof out on the walls for kids or guests to see.
